This is the lore and background of my custom Space Marine Chapter: The Wulfscyld!

Chapter Background

• Space Wolves descended.
• Famously reinforced the Crimson Fists and Cowled Wardens during the War for Dioram against the Orkz
• Dioram was a factory world that was devastated during this war.
• The Wulfscyld arrived here by accident after having been lost in the warp for millennia.
• Upon seeing hundreds of Marines descend upon the world in older pattern Power Armour the Astartes on this world assumed that they were of the forces of Chaos. Until they started to rescue civilians and reinforce the planetary militia in their most dire deployments.
• With this sudden massive reinforcement of Space Marines the Captain of the Crimson Fists 7th company alongside his veiled counterpart from the Cowled Wardens were able to exterminate the Orkz on the world but reinforcements came too late to save the primary manufactorums leading to the evacuation of Dioram, which the Wulfscyld were more than capable of assisting with.

Chapter Holdings

• The Wulfscyld are the Defenders of the Ældermark Subsector in the Ultima Segmentum
• The capital world is Wessaxia where their Fortress Monastery The Caester is found.
• Each company maintains their own personal fortress, at the center of each is The Meduseld

Chapter Hierarchy

• The Chapter Master of the Wulfscyld is Hrothgar Stormwall.
• Rune Priests are sometimes referred to as Word Hoarders or Myth Keepers.
  • Chief Rune Priest is Tollwine The Mythkeeper

Chapter Culture

• Each company of the chapter is led by a Cyning
• The Cyning and Thanes of the chapter assemble The Witan to debate topics of importance to the company / chapter.

Chapter Relics

1. The Lance of Ardur
   • Custodian Power Spear used as a badge of office and held within the Great Vault of the Templecaester.
   • Used by a Custodian that accompanied the Chapter on a campaign millennia ago, the reasons for his disappearance has yet to be answered.
2. Drakebane
   • Heavy Bolter from the Great Crusade.
   • According to it’s myth it was Used to bring down a Heldrake singlehandedly.
3. Vengefire Terminator Plasma Cannon
   • A Deathwing Plasma Cannon once used to obliterate a frenzied Hive Tyrant.
   • Came into the possession of the Wulfscyld as they reinforced the Deathwing during campaign. Doing all they could to rescue their Deathwing cousins from a Hive collapse.

   • Power Sword once wielded by a Crimson Fist

  • Thane Uldric The White (He has a glorious white beard)
  • Fast attack company, bikes, speeders, thunderwolf cavalry, etc
• 3 - The Bloodhands
  • Thane Tyrwald The Oathsworn
  • Close combat focussed company.
• 4 - 5 Battle Companies
• 6 - 9 Reserve Companies
• 10 - Fenwakes (Sentinels of the Fen)
  • Thane Hereward The Grey, The First of Wakes
  • Scouts company specializing in terror tactics, recon, guerilla warfare and anti-xeno atrocity warfare.
